Robert Owen's Windows of Learning

Living and working in Lanark is a constant reminder of the phenomenal achievements of Robert Owen when New Lanark was the source of his experiments in nursery education, schools, adult education, community development and the beginnings of the cooperative movement. It was therefore a pleasure to work on a voluntary basis to support this incredible project which took place across all local primary schools and nurseries.

We created this website to keep a record of the project and all its achievements.

The project also features on the Community Action Lanarkshire online museum.

The main achievement of the project was the production of eight large stained glass windows that are a tribute to Robert Owen's principles. Artist Fiona Foley describes the process in this video.
